These Red Label Western Red Cedar Wood Roof Shingles are ideal for use in the construction of garden buildings such as tool sheds, arbours and gazebos. With one of the lowest carbon footprints of any widely used building product, this environmentally friendly option offers a high degree of thermal insulation to your outbuilding and a thermal insulation value eight times that of concrete.

The lightweight structure allows easy handling and transportation while resisting damage caused by moisture, decay and insects. It is also low maintenance after installation and maintains high aesthetic integrity.

Red Label roof shingles provide a lower-quality option compared to premium Blue Label shingles. In contrast to Blue Label cedar shingles, Red Label shingles exhibit some sapwood and flat grain, as well as occasional knots and imperfections above the clear portion.

Installation

  • Cedar shingles can be securely attached to pitches with angles as shallow as 14°. To ensure longevity, it is recommended to fasten each shingle with two stainless steel annular ring nails. As a reference, you'll typically require around 1kg of nails to secure six bundles of shingles. For Hip and Ridge installation, you will need four nails for each piece, totalling 144 nails for every bundle of Hip and Ridges. Additionally, when working with Hip and Ridge Cappings, you will need 1kg of nails to secure three bundles.
